How often should you clean your pool?

Most residential pools in this climate do well on a weekly visit: skimming, brushing, vacuuming, baskets, water level, and a full chemical test.

Biweekly can work if the pool is screened, the filter is healthy, and someone checks chlorine between visits. Monthly is maintenance, not a recovery plan. A green pool needs extra visits.

After a storm, the visit covers debris removal and, if the water turned green, green-to-clean recovery with shock and filtration.

Saltwater pools still need brushing and chemistry. We measure salt, add bags when needed, and clean the cell without changing the installation. We do not rewire chlorinators or replace pipes.
